Recycling

Recycling will be collected in the 96-Gallon Recycling Carts every other week on the same day as your solid waste collection.

Recycling collection will continue on a weekly basis.

Your recycling collection week will be determined by the lid color of the cart delivered to your home. For example, if your cart has:

  • Green lid - your recycling will be collected the week of August 1, 2024, and every other week thereafter
  • Blue lid - recycling collection will begin the week of August, 5, 2024, and every other week thereafter

Make sure your recycling cart is placed at the curb by 7 am on the day of collection. The lid must be closed and placed facing the curb. Large cardboard boxes must be broken down to fit inside the cart.

Please do not place your old recycling bin in your new recycling cart. Residents are encouraged to repurpose their old recycling bins or drop them off at the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Small Vehicle Disposal Area for free recycling. Residents can also place their empty old recycling bins out for collection with their weekly refuse.
