Sewage is water that is used in households and goes down any drain in the house. For example, a general household produces sewage from showers, toilets, dishwashers, washing machines, and other appliances that use water. Unlike stormwater, sewage is sent to a treatment facility where it is sanitized and cleaned. Then, it is released into local waterways.
