Zoning Complaints

A zoning complaint is a formal report submitted by a resident concerning a potential violation occurring on private property. To qualify as a valid zoning complaint, the issue must involve an activity or condition that violates the Town’s zoning ordinance or the State Property Maintenance Code.

The complaint may include:

  • Unpermitted land uses
  • Improper storage of materials
  • Structures built without required approvals
  • Property conditions that fail to meet minimum maintenance standards

Only complaints that fall within these regulatory frameworks can be investigated and addressed by the Zoning Department.
